Biking Around Seattle

Winter Rides often start with a little bicycle maintenance
to clean rusty chains from rainy weather.

Once the maintenance is done everything heads out on area trails,
Burke Gilman, Ship Canal, Downtown Seattle and Alki Beach.

While today's route skirts many neighborhoods, it takes riders directly
through Myrtle Edwards Park and the Olympic Sculpture Park.

The route then swings around the downtown harbor and takes
everyone along the water to a favorite midway stop - the Alki Bakery.

The bakery sits across from Lady Liberty and
a panaromic view of downtown Seattle.

Today's route distance is about 32 miles and except for a few
rolling streets, the whole route is fairly flat and easy to navigate.

The return trip is the same as the beginning and
quickly everyone is back where they started.

With a final ride along the ship canal, riders are soon,
back to the Burke Gilman Trail and Gasworks Park where they started.
